Although my past focus had mainly been portrait and figure painting, I spent a lot of my time creating still lifes throughout my sophomore year in college. I quickly discovered a new love and enjoyment in giving significance to things that play a part in the routine of everyday living.

commissioned piece (WIP) 2024
charcoal and graphite on paper

pet portraits
My first experience as a commissioned artist was in middle school, when a woman saw me painting in the corner of my piano instructor's little studio. She asked if I was interested in painting her dog and added that she would pay me for it. I was so excited about the offer that I accepted without hesitation, having no idea that this moment would mark the beginning of my journey in pet portraiture for the following 10+ years.
